In winter it is a snow-sure and pleasant ski resort for all levels with access to the 420 kilometers of slopes of the Via Lattea (where the 2006 Winter Olympics took place).
But there are also plenty of opportunities for non-skiers to enjoy a holiday with Spa & Wellness, winter walking, shopping and museum visits in Turin (Egyptian archaeological museum, National Automobile Museum, ...)
In spring-summer-autumn it is a true paradise for nature lovers, walkers, hikers, mountain bikers, ... and many other outdoor activities. The nature reserve “Parco Naturale del Gran Bosco Silbertrand” starts on the edge of the village. Many walking, cycling and mountain bike & Freeride routes of varying distance, difficulty and duration depart from the village. In summer you can use the ViaLattea skilifts to take you (and your bike) up in the mountains.

Turin, capital of Piemonte is only 90 kilometres from Sauze D'Oulx. This historic and economic important Italian city, that once was the capital of the Kings of Savoie and later the 1st capital of Italy, hosts several important sights, musea and gallerias, has a lovely historic center and is a paradise for shoppers.

Pinerolo at 80kilometers from Sauze d'Oulx is a most charming ancient town. With its covered galleries it is fit to visit any time of the year.
The impressive Forte Di Fenestrelle, the biggest alpine fortification from 1727, with the famous “Passi del De Amicis” is at only 48kilomters and is an interesting destination.
Parco Naturale del Gran Bosco di Salbertrand
This protected nature reserve of 3750 hectares, offers a wide variety of trails for walking, hiking and mountainbiking, right at the edge of the village Sauze D'Oulx. This parc is the home of different species of plants, trees, flowers and herbs and of birds (hawk,, buzzard, golden eagle,, eagle owl, black woodpecker, black grouse, rock partridge, ... and mammals such as chamois, wild boar, deer and roe deer. With some luck you might even spot an occassional wolf- this species returned to this area already in 1997.
